How to Make Mukhwas at Home (Indian Mouth Freshener Recipe)




Today we are going to prepare Mukhwas. It is also known as Indian mouth freshener. We get a wide variety of mouth fresheners in Indian markets using different combinations. It is easy to make natural Mouth Freshener at home. 

Mouth freshener acts both, as digestive aid after a heavy meal and breathe freshener. Though we get a variety of breath fresheners in the market, most of them are loaded with sugar, artificial colors and preservatives. When we make it at home, they act as a real digestive aid. You can use this homemade mouth freshener daily without any side effects. 






Ingredients: 



  • Sweet Fennel (मीठी सौफ़) – 125 Gram (ग्राम)
  • Shredded Dry Coconut  (कीसा हुआ सूखा खोपरा) - 125 Gram (ग्राम) 
  • Sweet Supari | Flavoured Betel nut (मीठी लच्छा सुपारी या मीठी बारीख बॉन सुपारी)- 50 Gram (ग्राम)
  • Rose Petal Jam । Gulkand (गुलकंद) - 50 Gram (ग्राम)
  • Tutti Frutti (गुलाब कतरी) - 50 Gram (ग्राम)
  • Chaman Bahar Powder  (चमन बहार पाउडर / मसाला) – 1 Teaspoon (छोटी चम्मच)
  • Peppermint  (पिपरमेंट) – 1 Pinch or 1/8 Teaspoon (1 चुटकी या १/8 छोटी चम्मच)

Method:

  1. First of all we will take a bowl and pour shredded dry coconut in it. 
  2. Then we will add sweet fennel in it and mix it well.
  3. Now we will add flavoured betel nut in it and mix it well.
  4. Now we will add tutti frutti, chaman bahar powder and peppermint to the mixture and mix it very well.
  5. We will mix all the dry ingredients first. After mixing all the dry ingredients we will add Rose Petal Jam to our mixture and mix it very well with the help of hands as shown in video. (Mixing with hands will distribute rose petal jam evenly in our mixture and enhance its taste.)
  6. Our mouth-watering Mouth Freshener is ready. Store it in air tight container and Enjoy whenever required. 

Note:


  1. This homemade Mouth Freshener  is also good remedy for bad breath.
  2. For diabetic patients, reduce the quantity of rose petal jam.




विधिः

  1. एक बर्तन में खोपरे और सौफ़ को डालकर अच्छी तरह से मिलाएँ। 
  2. अब इसमें मीठी सुपारी डालकर अच्छी तरह से मिलाएँ। 
  3. अब इसमें गुलकंद को छोड़कर सभी सुखी सामग्री जैसे की गुलाब कतरी, चमन बहार और पिपरमेंट डालकर अच्छी तरह से मिलाएँ।
  4. अब इसमें गुलकंद डालकर हाथों की सहायता से वीडियो में दिखाएँ गये तरीके से अच्छी तरह मिलाएँ। 
  5. हमारा त्वरित मुखवास बनकर तैयार हैं।  इसे एक एयर टाइट डिब्बे में रखकर महीनो तक इसका लुफ्त उठाएँ।
